Folic acid rich in vitamin B also very important for a pregnant lady, it is must for everyone as it helps in proper growth of the fetal. The folate in folic acid prevents the fetal from various abnormalities of brain and spine. It’s also important for mature delivery on time.

The amount of water intake should be adequate, as it helps in proper digestion and constipation and hydration. This also helps in normal delivery.

The pregnant lady needs more diet and at least 4-5 meals a day. Calcium and iron are also very important minerals that should be included in diet plan. Although the supplements are given for the same. At this time extra calcium is required, for the strengthening of bone of fetal specially. One should not have deficiency of calcium. Otherwise the amount of calcium that your baby requires is given to your body bones and thus baby becomes weak.

Similarly iron is also very important as it helps to carry oxygen to blood cells. Therefore to provide fetal with sufficient oxygen and develop his respiratory organs, iron intake is must. Foods like beans, potatoes, meat are rich content of iron.

Do not think too much of weight gain in this period, your body may gain around 10-15 kg which is normal.
